These terms and conditions form the basis on which you can visit us and our website.

Use of the website www.canalcellars.co.uk is on condition you agree to the terms and conditions of Canal Cellars Ltd, stated on this website, which from time to time are subject to change and that any future use of the site will renew such an agreement.

Legal Age

By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. If our couriers are in doubt of the age of the recipient of an order they will request some form of ID. In the event that this is not satisfied they are not permitted to leave the wine.

Prices

The prices payable for goods that you order are as set out in our website. All prices are inclusive of VAT at the current rates and are correct at the time of entering information.
Prices could be subject to changes in duty and VAT. They are applicable to deliveries to the UK mainland only.

Accuracy of Content

We have taken care in the preparation of the content of this website, in particular to ensure that prices quoted are correct at the time of publishing and that all goods have been fairly described. However, orders will only be accepted if there are no material errors in the description of the goods or their prices as advertised on this website. Any weights, dimensions and capacities given about the goods are approximate only.

Ordering

We must receive payment of the whole of the price for the goods that you order before your order can be accepted. Once payment has been received by us we will confirm that your order has been accepted by sending an email to you at the email address you provide. Our acceptance of your order brings into existence a legally binding contract between us.

All orders are subject to availability. If the Goods you have ordered are not available, then we will contact you by e-mail or phone.

There is no minimum order. However the standard delivery charge is £8.95 on any order.   

Customers who wish to order off-line can download an order form from the website. Wines ordered in this way will only be despatched once the cheque has cleared.

Delivery

Deliveries are made Monday-Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm. Canal Cellars does not offer delivery on weekends or UK national holidays.

Canal Cellars Ltd delivers to anywhere in mainland UK. All other areas such as Isle of Wight, The Scottish Highlands, UK Offshore, and the Isle of Man are subject to additional delivery charges. Please contact our customer services department for details.  

We will deliver the goods to the address you specify for delivery in your order. It is important that this address is accurate. Please be precise about where you would like the goods left if you are out when we deliver. We cannot accept any liability for any loss or damage to the goods once they have been delivered in accordance with your delivery instructions (unless this is caused by our negligence). We will aim to deliver the goods by the date quoted for delivery but delivery times are not guaranteed. If delivery is delayed due to any cause beyond our reasonable control, the delivery date will be extended by a reasonable period and we will contact you to arrange an alternative time.

If the customer gives special instructions for Canal Cellars Ltd to leave the wine in a specific place without any presence it will be left at the customer’s own risk.

Breakages and Returns

Risk of damage to or loss of the goods passes to you at the time of delivery to you or if you fail to take delivery at the agreed time, the time when we tried to deliver. You will only own the goods once they have been successfully delivered and when we have received cleared payment in full. Goods supplied are not for resale.

Wine is an agricultural product so occasionally faults will occur. If you experience any problems with the wines that you have ordered through Canal cellars, please contact us on 0161 736 9500.

Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive, which can be found at http://www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm

Security

Credit card details, and all other confidential information, is sent and received using a secure software system.

Cancellations

If a customer wishes to cancel their order but the wines been despatched by our courier, then the customer will be charged. If wines have not yet been despatched then the customer will be reimbursed in full within 30 days.
